How to clean, protect and restore your leather items at home | dirtbusters.co.uk

Whether it's leather boots, jackets, gloves, bags, purses or leather furniture, follow our step-by-step guide to protect and clean your leather items.

CLEANING:

The first step is to clean the leather.
Using Dirtbusters Leather Cleaner, spray the leather and wipe in circular motions with a microfibre cloth to remove any dirt. Repeat if there is a large amount of dirt .e.g. on leather boots.

Allow the leather to dry before applying the conditioning treatment.

CONDITIONING:

Apply a small amount of the conditioning cream onto the leather, with a cloth (preferably microfibre). Work the natural cream and oils into the leather and allow to dry for 5-10 minutes.

Once dry, buff with a dry cloth. For very dry or old leather, apply a light second coat for maximum conditioning.

BALM:

Use Dirtbusters Deep Conditioning Leather Balm on items that require waterproofing, such as shoes, jackets, saddles and tack. This will protect the leather and provide a deep conditioning treatment to improve its appearance.

The balm has cleaning properties, but for very dirty leather items, follow the ‘cleaning’ step above.

Apply the balm with a cloth and allow to soak into the leather.
Once dry, buff to a natural shine with a dry microfibre cloth.
